Sigma Kappa Delta

Sigma Kappa Delta is an English Honor Society for two-year colleges. It was founded under the auspices of Sigma Tau Delta in 1996.

Our local chapter here at Black Hawk, Delta Epsilon, was founded in May 2011.

​

The central purpose of this society is to provide exceptional students opportunities for advancing the study of language and literature, for developing skills in creative and analytical writing, and for meeting other outstanding scholars and professionals in the discipline of English.

The name Sigma Kappa Delta comes from the Greek letters Σ Κ Δ, which represent the first letter of each word that forms the official Sigma Kappa Delta motto:

“Sincerity, Knowledge, and Design.”
